Are there agencies that provide assistance to pay my gas bill?

There are various agencies in Alaska, which may be able to provide assistance with payment of your utility bills. Contact the agency for additional information on various programs and requirements. Click here for a Municipality of Anchorage list of agencies providing assistance or here for a State of Alaska site helping Alaskans with heating costs.

I need to dig on my property, what should I do?

Call before you dig - 811 statewide or 278-3121 in Anchorage. This will connect you with Alaska DIGLINE.  An ENSTAR line locator will be out to locate your line within two business days. There is no charge for this service within normal business hours. ENSTAR uses yellow paint and flags to identify its facilities. ENSTAR's safe excavation instructions are also a great resource, and are available on the safety page.

What are ENSTAR's deposit requirements?

Deposit Amount / Return of Deposit / Re-Establishment of Credit (ENSTAR Tariff Reference - 403)
The deposit amount required to establish or re-establish credit will not exceed twice the estimated average monthly gas bill. For customers who have maintained a prompt payment record, the deposit and any accrued interest will normally be refunded after 24 months. If service is terminated before the deposit is refunded, the deposit and applicable interest will first be credited to your final bill and then any excess will be refunded.

How often is my meter read?

ENSTAR Natural Gas electronically reads all meters on a monthly basis. If you have a question or concern about your meter reading or statement, please contact customer service.

Can I change my billing due date?

You may choose a due date for your future billings if you are not able pay by the due date noted. Please contact your local office for details.

Requesting to Cancel Service/Close Your Account(s):

Please contact ENSTAR Natural Gas Company a minimum of three (3) days prior to the date you wish to cancel service from your name. Failure to contact us does not relieve you of your financial obligations to pay for all gas consumed while the account is in your name.
