This Privacy Policy pertains to Your use of this Website which is operated by ENSTAR Natural Gas Company, a TriSummit Utilities company, with a principal place of business at 3000 Spenard Road, Anchorage, AK 99503 (“ENSTAR,” “We,” “Us,” or “Our”).  This Privacy Policy describes the information collected through Your use of the Website, how We use it, how We share it, how We protect it, and the choices You can make about Your information. 

USING THE WEBSITE INDICATES THAT YOU ACCEPT AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THIS PRIVACY POLICY IN FULL.  IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT THIS PRIVACY POLICY, DO NOT USE THE WEBSITE.  You acknowledge (a) that You have read and understood this Privacy Policy; and (b) this Privacy Policy shall have the same force and effect as a signed agreement.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, any new features that augment or enhance the current Website shall be subject to this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy is part of the ENSTAR Terms of Use [Provide link to Terms of Use]. Any terms defined in the Terms of Use shall have the same meaning in this Privacy Policy.

A. Information You Provide to Us

We collect information from You when You use the Website, contact or interact with us, and voluntarily provide Us with Your comments and other content in connection with using the Website.

We may collect Your personal information in the following areas of the Website:

Registering for MyENSTAR.  MyENSTAR allows for You to view Your bills online, view billing history, change how You can receive a bill, and start and stop services, among other features.  You will be required to register to use MyENSTAR.  To register, You must create a username and password and You must provide Your first name, last name, and email address.  The account creation portal is managed by Smart Energy Water, Inc.; by registering for a MyENSTAR account, You agree to Smart Energy Water, Inc.’s terms of use, available at https://www.sew.ai/about.html.

Application for Residential Service.  When applying for Residential Service, We collect Your name; billing address; primary telephone number; e-mail address; occupation; employer; Social Security Number; date of birth; driver’s license number and state; security question and response; name of Your spouse, and Your spouse’s occupation and employer, if applicable; the name, address, and telephone number of Your nearest relative not living with You; mortgage holder or if You are a tenant of the premises, the name, address, and telephone number of the owner, property manager, or owner’s agent; service location, whether the service location had previously been provided with service, purpose for which the service is to be used, anticipated load requirements, and date when You will be ready to receive service. 

Other Applications.  For other applications, We collect the applicant’s name, billing address, primary telephone number, principal activity, type of organization; name of owner, significant officers or partners, their residence address, and previous employers; bank and credit references; financial information including bankruptcy history; e-mail address(es); and service location, whether applicant previously has been provided with service, purpose for which service is to be used, anticipated load requirements, and date when applicant will be ready to receive service.  Where the applicant is the tenant of the premises, We will collect the name, address, e-mail address, and primary telephone number of the owner, property manager or owner’s agent.  We will also collect the signature of the owner, significant officers or partners, or authorized agent; and We may require a personal guarantee of the owner, partners and/or significant officer(s) as a condition of providing service, and therefore credit. 

Pay My Bill.  If You select the “Pay My Bill” option, You will be forwarded to the ENSTAR Payment Portal, operated by ACI Payments Inc. (“ACI”).  To retrieve Your Bill, You will be required to provide Your account number and the last four digits of the primary telephone number listed on Your ENSTAR account. 

  • If You link Your ENSTAR account to a bank account, You may be required to provide the following information: bank account type (personal checking, personal savings, business checking, or business savings); name on account; routing number; bank account number; state of funding account; zip code of funding account; payment date; amount of payment; and email address. 
  • If You choose to use a credit card in paying Your ENSTAR bill, credit card information will be collected by ACI.  ACI is a third party processor that typically collects personal information that includes some or all of the following: name, address, email address, telephone number, credit or debit card number (including expiration date and cardholder name), checking account information and jurisdictional payment information (e.g., amount of tax obligation to be paid).  For more information, please visit ACI’s privacy policy.

Budget Billing.  If You select the “Budget Billing” option, ENSTAR provides You the option to cancel Budget Billing.  By clicking on the “Cancel Budget Billing Online,” You will be redirected to a separate window.  To cancel Budget Billing, You are required to provide the name on account; the ENSTAR account number; a telephone number; the date to discontinue plan; the ability to remove from auto pay and whether to remove the account from the Budget Billing Plan; and the email address to receive confirmation of form submission.

Update My Account.  If You do not have a MyENSTAR account, You may still use the Website to update Your account by selecting the “Update My Account” tab.  To update Your account, You must provide Your account number; current name on file; current telephone number on file; the information to update (name change; telephone number; mailing address; authorized user change); the effective date of the change; and the email address to receive confirmation of form submission. 

Landlord Tenant Agreement. ENSTAR allows for landlords and property managers to sign Landlord Tenant Agreements (“LTAs”) that allow for gas service to revert to their names during times gas would otherwise be shut off.  An LTA can be started through the Website, and the landlord or property manager will be required to provide the name on the ENSTAR Account to which the LTA will default; the ENSTAR gas account number; the requested service address for the LTA; the requestor’s name; a telephone number; and an email address to receive confirmation of form submission.  To stop an LTA, ENSTAR requires the following information be submitted: the name on ENSTAR account; the ENSTAR gas account number; a service address to cancel the LTA; the requestor’s name; a telephone number; a reason for cancellation; and an email address to receive confirmation of form submission.  An LTA is governed by a separate set of Terms and Conditions which can be accessed on the Website when signing up for the service. 

Careers at ENSTAR.  If You are interested in working for ENSTAR, You may apply for a job by selecting the “Careers” tab.  You will be redirected to an online portal administered by a third party called ApplicantPro.  Before applying for a job, You will be required to create an account and when registering, You will be asked to provide your first name, last name, email address, telephone number, preferred method of contact (including contact via text message), address, and password.  Any personal information submitted during the application process will be processed and stored in accordance with the ApplicantPro Privacy and Security Policy, which can be accessed here: https://www.applicantpro.com/privacy/.  If You have any questions regarding ApplicantPro’s privacy or security standards, please direct Your questions to privacy@applicantpro.com

B. Information We Gather Automatically

When You access and use the Website, We automatically collect information regarding You and Your device, including Your device’s Internet Protocol address, the domain name of Your Internet service provider, Your location, Your mobile device information (e.g. device model and operating system version), your page visits, your social sharing activity, and aggregated information that cannot be used to specifically identify You. Additional information collected is described in the Analytics and Cookies sections below.

C. Information We Collect from Other Sources

We may collect information about You from third-party sources including, but not limited to, social media companies, advertising partners, and third-party websites, including sources like ApplicantPro.

We may combine all of the information We collect from or about You and use it in the manner described in this Privacy Policy.

We use the information that We collect for several purposes, including:

  • The purposes for which You provided it;
  • To provide information and services to You;
  • To process and respond to Your inquiries and comments;
  • To send You information about Your relationship with us;

  • To administer, operate, and improve the Website or develop new services;

We use third-party analytics tools to better understand who is using the Website and how people are using it. These tools collect information sent by Your device or the Website and other information that assists Us in improving the Website. You have choices regarding the use of information by the Website.

A. Changing Your Information/Closing Your Account

Under Account Options/Update My Account, You may request to update/change: Name, Phone Number, Mailing Address or Authorize a user for their account. You cannot delete an Account.  Under Account Options/Help Me Move, You can request to Stop Service (close account), by calling Customer Service or logging into their MyENSTAR account.

B. Email Communications

You can make changes regarding receiving email communications from Us by contacting Us at cs@enstarnaturalgas.com.   

C. Opt-Outs Available From Our Partners

Some of Our partners allow users to opt-out of their collection of information.  See Analytics, and Cookies, Local Storage and Other Tracking Technologies sections above for details. 

10. Information Collected From Other Websites and Do Not Track Policy

Your browser or device may offer You a “Do Not Track” option, which allows You to signal to operators of websites, web applications, mobile applications and services (including behavioral advertising services) that You do not wish such operators to track certain of Your online activities over time and/or across different websites or applications. Our Website does not support Do Not Track requests at this time, which means that We or Our analytics providers or other third parties with which We are working may collect information about Your online activity both during and after Your use of the Website.

Our Website is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from an individual under age 13. If You are under the age of 13, please do not submit any personal information through the Website. ENSTAR’s ultimate parent company is TriSummit Utilities, a Canadian corporation.  The information contained on this website is intended solely for the use of ENSTAR customers and to provide general information regarding the services offered by ENSTAR.  The information on this website is not offered to induce or solicit any person or persons to buy or sell interests in TriSummit Utilities, or for reliance purposes in any actual or attempted transaction.
